About the Program

Applications are now open for the 2026 Andela-CNCF Kubernetes African Developer Training Program, a large-scale initiative designed to equip African developers with in-demand cloud-native skills.

The program is organized by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and Linux Foundation Education, in partnership with Andela, with the goal of training 20,000–30,000 African technologists in cloud-native technologies.

As global demand for Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure expertise continues to rise, this program helps participants gain practical knowledge to compete for remote and international tech roles.

Program Details

This is a 7-week intensive training program combining:

  • Self-paced learning
  • Mentor-led technical sessions
  • Peer-to-peer collaboration
  • Hands-on labs and assessments

Participants will complete the Kubernetes and Cloud Native Essentials course hosted on the Linux Foundation learning platform.

You will learn to:

  • Understand Kubernetes architecture
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications
  • Solve container orchestration challenges
  • Monitor applications in distributed environments
  • Work with modern cloud-native development workflows

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Solid understanding of Linux commands
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Basic cloud computing concepts
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization technologies
  • Experience using package managers
  • Knowledge of Git and GitHub
