Applications are now open for the 2026 Social & Inclusive Business Camp (SIBC) – Energy Transition Edition, a high-impact acceleration and capacity-building program for social entrepreneurs in East Africa.
The Social & Inclusive Business Camp 2026 targets impact-driven founders and business leaders based in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Tanzania who are developing innovative solutions that contribute to sustainable energy access and the green transition.
Since its launch in 2017, SIBC has supported nearly 350 social and environmental entrepreneurs across Africa, helping them scale their ventures, measure social impact, and prepare for fundraising and investment.
About the SIBC 2026 Program
SIBC 2026 focuses on Energy Transition and supports businesses operating in the following sub-sectors:
- Access to energy (on-grid and off-grid)
- Clean cooking solutions
- Renewable energy
- Energy sufficiency
- Energy efficiency
The program combines online acceleration with local ecosystem support and a high-impact in-person bootcamp in Nairobi, Kenya.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Hold a high-responsibility leadership role (Founder, Co-founder, Director, etc.)
- Operate an organisation legally registered in at least one of the following countries:
- Kenya
- Uganda
- Rwanda
- Ethiopia
- Tanzania
- Organisation must have been active for at least 3 years
- Business must have a social and environmental mission linked to energy transition
- Organisation must generate income from commercial activities
- Business must be expanding into new territories (nationally or internationally)
Program Structure & Key Details
- Cohort size: 50 project leaders (10 from each country)
- Strong focus on measuring and maximizing social & environmental impact
- Local partners provide hands-on support in each participating country
- Combination of online learning and field-based engagement
- One-week in-person bootcamp in Nairobi, Kenya
- Participation in the Africa–France Summit
